Jewels For Jesus is Strategically Planning for a God-Driven Future
In late 2010, Jewels For Jesus embarked on an in-depth program evaluation
exercise followed by an intense strategic planning period.
The outcome?
You'll be seeing a few changes to our organization in the weeks to come.
What's Changing?
First and foremost, Jewels For Jesus is getting a new look and a new name that
will better communicate who we are to those who need the help and hope we offer.
Our new name...
...and look are part of a strategic plan to reach a greater number of women,
men and families who need our help, regardless of faith backgrounds and life
circumstances. Over 70% of the birth parents we have assisted have no faith
background but have found hope and
help in this place. That's wonderful news!
However, we know that others have hesitated in approaching us, wondering if
we would be open to helping them. We want to make it clear that we exist to
offer hope and help to everyone!
What's Not Changing?
This is God's place - We remain firmly anchored in our conviction that
this is God's place and the foundational Christian truths that guide our decisions
and actions will remain unchanged.
We will continue to pursue excellence - We are equally committed to
ensuring that the quality of our services remains unchanged. Those we assist
deserve the best support God's people can offer. This is our humble goal and
commitment to those who look to us for help and hope.
Why "JFJ Hope Centre"?
JFJ - Wanting to maintain a connection with our long and cherished
history, we opted to keep the initials, JFJ, as part of our new name. We're
proud of our heritage. The heritage of our founders Milton and Hazel Hill and
those who followed in their footsteps, whose vision of helping children and
families in the name of the Lord has lived on for over six decades.
Hope - We recognize the importance of being relevant to a world of
people with crises and crushed hopes. Hope is what brings people to us;
hope that we can help them even in times of seemingly hopeless crisis.
This is true whether we're assisting someone faced with an unplanned pregnancy,
or a couple faced with infertility while longing to be parents, or a parent
who is struggling to feed, diaper or clothe their child. It is equally true
of a young person trying to navigate the sea of decisions to a healthy,
meaningful relationship. And hope is what God offers. We wanted our new
name to communicate that this is a place where
hope can be found.
For the next little while we'll be phasing in our new name and look.
We will keep you posted on how to stay connected with us. For now, you can
find us through the same website and email, and donations should still be
given under the name Jewels For Jesus.
